Miðannarmat/Midterm evaluation

Í vikunni 5. til 9. október meta kennarar ástundun nýnema (þeirra sem eru fæddir 1993 eða síðar) og leggja mat á hvernig nemandinn hefur unnið í hverjum áfanga hingað til. Nemandinn og forráðamenn hans/hennar geta skoðað niðurstöður miðannarmatsins í Innu frá og með 14. október.At this time, well before the exams, Menntaskólinn við Hamrahlíð attempts to evaluate how well our youngest students (born in 1993 or later) are working. The results of the evaluation will be accessible in Inna from October 14th.  

Umsögn er gefin í eftirfarandi bókstöfum: G = góð(ur), V = viðunandi og O = ófullnægjandi og þarf að bæta. Upplýsingar úr miðannarmati eru hugsaðar sem hvatning til nemenda sem hafa stundað námið vel það sem af er önninni eða sem vísbending um að nemandi þurfi að taka sig á áður en að prófum kemur.

We wish to stress the fact that teachers are not giving a grade of the kind students traditionally receive at the end of term after sitting final exams. The intention is rather to convey the teachers’ impressions of how students have been working over the past 6 - 7 weeks. This information will hopefully have the effect of either encouraging those who have been working well or acting as a warning to those who need to make changes in their work-habits before exams. The grades are : G = good (góður), V = acceptable (viðunandi) =  og O = unacceptable and needs improving (ófullnægjandi og þarf að bæta).
